The new museum, the Tokaj Cultural and Conference Center in the old synagogue building and the Paulay Ede Theater are all integral parts of Tokaj’s cultural quarter. In the historical building of the old Alehouse, the exhibition presents various wine regions by using 21st century technologies.
Naturally, the exhibition focuses mainly on the Tokaj-Hegyalja area. Discovering the region by riding a bicycle, driving a car, or flying by balloon is a great experience, and what is more, visitors can also take virtual tours in this wonderful area. Other parts of the exhibition contain interactive elements as well. Several games, floor graphics and touch pads help visitors learn about the world-famous Tokaj wine and its traditions, and also about the hard and complicated work that makes these wines truly unique.
The traditional exhibition items are from the collection of the Tokaj Museum, many of which have never been put on display. Archaeological findings, religious memories and the traditional tools of wine-making from the past of Tokaj are also on show.
The Wine Region Memorial Park is located in the inner court of the cultural quarter, commemorating the prominent figures of Hegyalja.
