The Kossuth Statue

The Kossuth statue located in the city’s main square was created by Aladár Gárdos in 1911.

The bell-shaped stone pedestal of the statue depicts chief Árpád and a peasant with a plow. Its epitaph was made in 1890, during Kossuth’s exile in Turin.
