The one-time residence of the wonder-working rabbi, The Reb Saje Steiner Memorial House and the rabbi’s grave are both popular pilgrimage destinations.
Once, the kitchen of the house provided food for 50-60 people every day, because the rabbi did not let anyone leave his house hungry. Reb Saye spent most of the days in his legendary armchair. According to the story, he went to bed only on Fridays, as he spent so much time listening to his guests or praying.
Among the legendary deeds of the widely respected wonder-working rabbi, there is a “small miracle” as well: locals say that once he reconciled a marriage of a Christian couple by the power of his prayer.
