Olaszliszka

The village was an important center of Hungarian Hasidism. Many pilgrims visit the grave of the famous Rabbi Herschel Friedmann in the scenic Jewish cemetery.

Olaszliszka was once a center of Hasidism due to Rabbi Tzvi Herschel Friedman, one of the best-known wonder-working rabbis of the era. Herschel Friedmann was raised in the Sátoraljaújhely house of Moses Teitelbaum.

His grave is visited by pilgrims on the anniversary of his death (on the 14th of month Av) in the Olaszliszka Jewish cemetery.
