Imre Makovecz’s organic style gave shape to the city’s architectural renewal in the 1980s and 1990s. One of the most impressive examples is the Community Center, full of monumental and spectacular architectural elements.
On the columns of the main entrance there are two statues with ancient Hungarian characteristics. These are by sculptor László Péterfy.
The Community Center provides a home for the library and the Bodrog Folk Dance Ensemble, and it serves as a venue for theater plays and film screenings.
